Since the NHL started having the “Winter Classic”, an outdoor hockey game that takes place on New Year’s Day, many people have become more interested in watching hockey regularly. Mrs. DaSilva has always been a hockey fan and has decided to organize a group to go visit the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, Canada.
Unfortunately for Mrs. DaSilva, who doesn’t like the cold very much, it is likely quite cold in Toronto. She has asked her math classes to find the average temperature in Toronto.
The average daily temperatures (in Fahrenheit) in Toronto for the previous two weeks are: +1, -1, 0, -2, +4, -1, -1, -9, -6, -9, -12, -2, 0, and +3.
1. What is the range of the data?
2. What is the median temperature?
3. What is the mean temperature?
4. What is the mode temperature?
5. How would the mean change if the next day’s temperature of +7 was included in the data?
BONUS: Suppose you were told that the average temperature in Toronto for one week in December was -1 degree Fahrenheit. You could read on the data table that six of the temperatures were -2, +3, -5, 0, +4, and -1 but the last temperature was too blurry to read. What is the missing temperature?
A gentle reminder:
Assignment - In your comment remember to include the following:
* your name (first name and last initial)
* your class
* the answer to the problem – there are FIVE parts (or SIX including the bonus question) – be sure to include every part and number the expressions
* an explanation that includes the strategy you used to solve.
* is there another way to solve the problem?
* any additional thoughts you have about the problem(s)

My answer
+1, -1, 0, -2, +4, -1, -1, -9, -6, -9, -12, -2, 0, +3 - Out of order
-12, -9, -9, -6, -2, -2, -1, -1, -1, 0, 0, +1, +3, +4 – In order
1: What is the range of the data?
-Maximum: 4
-Minimum: - (-12)
-8
The range is -8.
2: What is the median temperature?
-12, -9, -9, -6, -2, -2, -1, -1, -1, 0, 0, +1, +3, +4
The median is in between -1, and -1. Since they are both the same number, the a number between them is the number itself. -1
The median is -1˚F
3: What is the mean temperature?
-12, -9, -9, -6, -2, -2, -1, -1, -1, 0, 0, +1, +3, +4
To get the mean, add up all of the numbers listed in the data given, then divide the sum of all of the numbers by the number of numbers in the data.
-12
-9
-9
-6
-2
-2
-1
-1
-1
0
0
1
3
+ 4 Total.
-35/14(amount of numbers in given data) = -2.5
The mean temperature is -2.5˚F
4: What is the mode temperature?
12, -9, -9, -6, -2, -2, -1, -1, -1, 0, 0, +1, +3, +4
The mode is the number that appears most in the list of given data.
-1 appears 3 times in the given data.
The mode temperature is -1˚F
5: How would the mean change if the next day’s temperature of +7 was included in the data?
-12, -9, -9, -6, -2, -2, -1, -1, -1, 0, 0, +1, +3, +4, +7
-35(original total amount) + 7 = -28
-28(new total amount)/15(new amount of numbers in given data) = -1.8666…
The mean temperature is -1.666…˚F
I solved the problem by working with the information I already have, to determine the answer to the question. One piece of information I used, was the list of temperatures. Since the temperatures were involved in every problem, I put that list in every problem as seen at the beginning of each problem. Another piece of information I used, was the answers to each problem. I needed to know the answer to question #3 to answer question #5 because I needed to use the answer to #3 as a number in #5 as part of my work to answer it.
I think this problem can be solved another way using diagrams, charts, and pictures describing each answer instead of writing and explaining it.
I have no additional thoughts about this problem.

ReplyDeletefor the first part I got -8 since it is the number that was the sum of -12 and 4..
for the second part i got -1 again for the medium because when i lined them up and started to cross them all out i got -1.
for the third part i got +4 since it was the highest numberinthe group.
for the fourth part i got -12 since it was the smallest number of them all.
if seven was added then the new mode would be seven.
bonus the missing tempuature would be -1 since it is the average by being seen the most.

1. from -12 to +4
I found this answer by finding the lowest number -12 and the biggest number 4 and put them together like this -12 to +4
2. The number is -1
I found the answer by lining up all the numbers numerically from lowest to highest and crossing the off the highest and lowest number until I found the answer.
3. The answer is -1.42
I found my answer by adding all the temperatures up-20 and dividing by the number of them which is 14 and I got -1.42
4. The answer is -1
The answer is number one because out of all the numbers -1 appeared most. I found it grouping all the numbers into groups by the number they are there were 3 -1s the maximum the other numbers went to was 2 a group.
5. The answer is -0.86
I got my answer by putting a 7 with the other temperatures and dividing by 15 because there was 1 more than 14 temperatures.
I would not mind I if I had to solve the problems if there were bigger numbers in instead of the small ones given. I could not think of another strategy to solve any of the other problems.

Answers;
1)Since the range is the difference between the smallest and the largest I took the smallest number -12 and subtracted it from the largest number +4. To find the answer i drew a number line <----------------->
Start:+4
Face:subtract-Left
Move:negative back 12
Answer:+16
2)The median is the middle number so I started by lining all the numbers up from smallest to largest,-12,-9,-9,-6,-2,-2,-1,-1,-1,0,0,+1,+3,+4 then I started crossing each number off so, -12,+4,then -9,+3 all the way til I got to the middle. Then you will see that since it is an evan amount of numbers that you will have two left. Luckly they are the same number. So you answers is -1 is the median.
3)The mean is the average so you add all the numbers together and divide that by how many there are. When you add them all together you get -35. Then you have to divide that by 14 because there is 14 numbers. Then you get -2.5. So your answer is -2.5.
4)The mode is the number that appears most often. In this case when you look at all the numbers in that data the number that appears most is -1. Therefore your answer is that the mode of this data is -1.
5)If you added +7 to the data the mean would change and it would become -2.2 not -2.5.This is because when you add all the numbers you get -33 not -35 then you divide it by 15 because you added one number to your data. So your answer would change to -2.2.
BONUS: This is a problem where you have to find the missing number in an average. To find it follow these 4 steps
1-find all the total number of itams being averaged
2-Multiply the known average by the number of itams
3-add the known numbers together
4-subtract you answer from step 3 from step 2- this is the missing number.
in this problem,,
itams:6
-1*6=-6
-2+(+3)+(-5)+0+(+4)+(-1)=-1
-1-(-6)=5
To check my work -2+(+3)+(-5)+0+(+4)+(-1)+(+5)=+4/7=-0.57 round it to the nearest tenth you get -1.
Thoughts and or connections:I thought that most off this probem was easy becaus it was things that we were working on in class. The only thing I thought was a little hard was the mean. I thought that this problem was very good to do because that is what we were and are working on in class. I do not think that there is any other way to solve this problem because there is only one way to find the mean, mode, median and range.

ReplyDelete1)The range is -8
2)The median is -1
3)The mean is 2 R5
4)The mode is -1
5) It would make the negitives smaller and it would be a smaller mean.
BONUS: -5,-2,-1,0,3,4
The missing tempurature would be 0 because 4,3,0=7 and -1,-2,-5=-8 you subtract these two numbers and it's -1 so to keep it the same the missing number would be 0.
The stratagy I used to do this problem is to put the numbers from negitive to positive in order.
To me I do not think there is another way of solving this because what you mostly need is to make sure everything is in order.
I thought this problem was a good way to know how to use positive and negitive intergers.

ReplyDelete1.) The range is the difference between the highest number and the lowest number. The answer to number 1 is 16. I got this answer by finding the difference between negative 12 and positive 4.
2.) The median is the middle number. The answer is -1 both of the middle numbers were -1 and averaged togetherthhe middle number would be -1
3.) The mean is the average. To get the average u add all of the numbers together and divide it by how ever many numbers there are and u would get -2.5.
4.) The mode is the numbers that appear the most in the problem. The answer I got was -1. Out of all the numbers negative one appeared the most
5.) The total number would have equaled -28 if u added +7 and then u would have to divide it by 15 and it would have been --1.866

Part 1= range = +4 -(-12)= You would end at -16
Part 2= Median= -12 -9 -9 -6 -2 -2 -1 -1 -1 0 0 +1 +3 +4 = -1
Part 3= Mean= -12 + -9 + -9 + -6 + -2 + -2 + -1 + -1 + -1 + 0 + 0 + 1 + 3 + 4 =
+ = 8
- = 33 = -41/14 = 3 remainder 1
Part 4= Mode= Out of all the number -1 is repeated the most out of all of them.
Part 5= Mean= +8 + +7 = 15+(-33)= 48/15 = 3 remainder 3
I used a piece of paper to right out the number line and then added or subtract what it wanted me to do.

1.-12-+4=-8 because the range is subtracting the highest number from the lowest.
2. -12,-9,-9,-6,-2,-2,-1,-1,-1,0,0,1,3,4, the answer is -1 because I listed the numbers in order from least to greatest then i crossed out the numbers left to right then i ended up with -1 and -1 so -1 is my answer
3.2.5 is my answer because i add up +1, -1, 0, -2, +4, -1, -1, -9, -6, -9, -12, -2, 0, and +3. then i divided it by 14 because there is 14 numbers and i got 2.5

1. The range of teh numbers is -12 and +4 degrees fahrenheit.I found my answer by taking out the lowest number aand teh highest temperature.
2.The median temperature is -1°F. To find this answer I ordered all of the temperatures from leats to greatest. The lowest temperature started at -12°f and so on. this problem is like ones where you are taking data and need the middle temperature to help with the problem.
3. The mean temperature or average is
-3.64285714°F. I know this because all of the positives and negatives added up equals -51 becuase positives+negatives=negatives.
4. The mode is -1°F This is because the mode is the number that appears the most in your range of numbers given to you. -1°F shows up three times not only once.
5. The mena would become smaller in degrees since there would be one extra temperature. The other data would also change because one more number is different then the fourteen already given.
Bonus: +14°F is missing because the total with that would be 7°F. 7 divided by -7= -1°F

1. -12,-9,-9,-2,-2,-1,-1,-1,0,0,+1,+3,+4
Range: -12 to +4 the lowest number to the laregest number
Median: -1 the number in the middle
Mean: -2.23 the average you find this by adding all the number together, then divide by how many numbers there are.
Mode: -1 this the munber most occured
Add +7 then divide by 14 it would be -1.6
Anothother way to solve the range is by subtracting the lowest number from the highest number, but there is not another way to solve the rest.
This was fun because I haven't done this in a while and I forgot. :)

1.The range is the highest number subtracted from the lowest number.The highest number is +4.The lowest number is -12.The equation to solving this problem is +4-(-12).To start off I do these four steps;
start;+4
face;subtract=negative
move;back12=negative
end;-9
2)The median number is when you line up all of the numbers from greatest to least and cross out each side until the middle number appears.
The numbers from greatest to least are;
+4,+3,+1,0,0,-1,-1,-1,-2,-2,-6,-9,-9,-12
When I cross out the numbers I end up with -1 in the middle. Thus, the median is -1.
3)The mean, or the average, is when you add up all of the numbers and divide them by how many numbers there are. Since there are negative and positive numbers that you have to add you have to add the negative numbers separate and the positive numbers separate. The negative numbers are; (-1)+(-1)+(-1)+(-2)+(-2)+(-6)+(-9)+(-9)+(-12)= -43.
The positive numbers are; (+4)+(+3)+(+1)+(0)+(0)= +8.
When you add -43+(+8)=-35
Next you divide -35 by 14 intervals.
-35/14= -2.5. The mean is -2.5.
4)The mode is what interval appears the most. The number that appears the most is -1.
5)The mean would change because the result of adding up all of the numbers would be different and you answer will change. The negative numbers wouldn't change because +7 is not negative, the sum will remain the same. But, the positive numbers will vary.Instead of having to add up (+4)+(+3)+(+1)+(0)+(0)=-8, you'll have to add the +7 so the equation would look like this;(+4)+(+3)+(+1)+(0)+(0)+(+7)= 15.You would have to then divide the sum of the negative numbers by 15 intervals to get -35/15= -3.
Bounus;
First you add up all of the negative numbers which are;(-2)+(-5)+(-1)= -8.
Then the positive numbers which are; (+3)+(0)+(+4)= 7
-8+7= -1.
The missing number is negative 5. Its 5 because when you add up all of the intervals the sum is -1. So -5+(-1)=-6.I know that it is -6 because there are 6 intervals so -6/6 equals -1.
I think that this problem was easy. I have done a lot of these in math class so I know what I am doing.I would definitely like it if we had another problem similar like this.

1. The range of the data goes from -12 to +4.
2. The median is -1 because the numbers go like this.... -12, -9, -9, -6, -2, -2, -1, -1, -1, 0, 0, 3, and 4. Ten you have to go from the left to the right and cancel a number from each side out till you get to the middle number which is two number but they are both -1 so, therefore the median is -1.
3.To find the mean you have to add all the number together then divide by 12because there are 12 umbers altogether.
1+1+2+4+1+1+9+6+9+12+2+3 and then i added them all up and got 48 and since there are 12 numbers i divide 12/-48= -4 so, therefore the average temperature is -4.
4. The mode of the range of data is +4.
5. I got -4.3 beause i added +7 to 48 because that is the mean of the numbers without +7 and since there is one more number i have to now divide 13 by 55, because 48+7=55. When i didvided the number i ended up with -4.3.
This problem remind me of my math book, when i had homework i had something just like this, it also reminds me o repeated multiplication because some numbers are repeated, it also reminds me of a chart in my math book with ranges of positive and negative integers and also they were being repeated. I think that there are many other ways to solve this problem but i think that the way that i solved it was most affective and the simlest way to find all the answers.

4-(-12)= 16 is the range because the range is two things, the largest and smallest numbers in the list and/or the difference of the largest and smallest numbers in the list and to find the difference you need to subtract the the two numbers from each other
2
-12 -9 -9 -6 -2 -2 -1 -1 -1 0 0 +1 +3 +4
total of numbers = 14
-1 is the median temperature. a technique to find this answer, and the only one i know of, is to put the numbers in numerical order and then cross out the numbers on the ends to get to the middle. with this set of numbers the middle is -1 so there are 6 crossed out numbers on each side.
3
-12 + -9 = - 21
-21 +-9 = -30
-30+-6=-36
-36+-2=-38
-38+-2=-40
-40+-3= -43 (-3=all the -1 put together)
-43+1=-42
-42+3=-39
-39+4=-35
-35/14 numbers =-2.5 degrees f* is the mean of the data. to find this what i did was add all the numbers and then divided the sum by how many numbers i added. i don’t think there is another way to find the mean of any list of numbers
4
the mode is the value that appears most often. there are 3 negative 1 and no other number is listed that many times, so, -1= the mode. there is no other way to solve this problem
5
the mean would change to a larger number closer to zero if the next day was +7
from problem 3 when i added the numbers up i got -35, but now i need to add another positive 7. -35+7= -28 divided by 15 numbers because before there were 4 numbers and then there was another one which = 15 -28/15= -1.866 f*, there is not any other way of doing this problem either.

1.) The range of the temperatures is from -12 to +4.
2.) -12, -9, -9, -6, -2, -2, -1, -1, -1, 0, 0, +1, +3,+4
There are two middle numbers so the median would be the half way mark between the two numbers. -.5 would be the median.
3.) -12, -9, -9, -6, -2,-2, -1,-1,-1,0,0,+1,+3,+4
-12+(-9)=-21
-21+(-9)=-30
-30+(-6)=-36
-36+(-2)=-38
-38+(-2)=-40
-40+(-1)=-41
-41+(-1)=-42
-42+(-1)=-43
-42+0=-43
-42+0=-43
-43+(+1)=-42
-42+(+3)=-39
-39+(+4)=-35
-35/14=-2.5
-2.5 is the mean or average of these temperatures.
4.) The number that is shown the most often is (-1). Therefore, -1 is the mode of all the temperatures.
5.) It would change because you would add another number. The new total of all the temperatures would be -18. (-35+(+7)=-18)
Because there is now 15 temperatures, you need to divide the total of all the temperatures (-18) by 15. (-18/15=-1.2) The new average would be -1.2
*BONUS*
Average: -1o F
Temperatures: -2,+3,-5,0,+4,-1
-1 (average) * 7 (number or temperatures)= -7
-1*7
(-1)+(-1)+(-1)+(-1)+(-1)+(-1)+(-1)
=-7
-2+3=1
1+-5=-4
-4+(+4)=0
0+(-1)=(-1)
-7(total of all temperatures)-(-1)(average)=(-6)
The missing temperature is -6oF.
For the first problem, I knew the range was the lowest number in the set of data to the largest number in the set of data. The lowest number in this data was -12 and the largest number was +4 so the range is from -12 to +4.
To find the median in a set of data you have to put your data in order then find the middle number. So, for number 2, I put all the date in order from smallest to largest; -12, -9, -9, -6, -2, -2, -1, -1, -1, 0, 0, +1, +3, +4. Then, I crossed off the first number on one side then the first number on the other side and I did that until I came to the middle. After that, I was left with -1 and -1 in the middle. The median would be the number in between the two numbers your left with. So, half way between -1 and -1 would be -.5 The median is -.5
The 3rd problem asked to find the average of the temperatures. I know to find the average you must add up all your data and divide that number by the number of pieces of data you have. When I added up all my data, I got a sum of -35. Then I had to divide -35 by 14 because I had 14 pieces of data. I got an answer of -2.5 . -2.5 is the average.
The mode is the piece of data that occurs the most. There are three -1’s in this data. That is the most repeated piece of data we have. Therefore, -1 is the mode.
If you added +7 to your data your average would change because you would be adding another piece of data and you would also be adding to the total of all the temperatures. Without the +7oF you would have a total of -35oF so you would have to add the 7degrees to the -35 which would give you -18oF. Then you have to divide -18 by 15 because there is now 15 temperatures. The answer is the new average. I got -1.2 for the new average.
The bonus says the average is -1oF and the temperatures are; -2,+3,-5,0,+4 and -1. To find the average, you add the data together then divide by the number of pieces of data but because we know the average we have to work backwards and multiply the average (-1) by the number of pieces of data (7). -1*7=-7 so all the temperatures added together equals -7oF. To find the temperature of the missing number, you would have to subtract the sum of the temperatures we know from the total of all the temperatures (-7). The sum of the six temperatures we know is -1. Now we have to subtract -1 from -7. The difference is -6. So, the missing temperature is -6oF.
I don’t think there is another way to solve this problem. This is pretty much the only way. I think this was a very good problem to have as the blog because it really requires thought and work, especially the bonus question. I think we should have more blog questions like this one to have more practice.

bouns: the missing temp would have to be 0 because 3+4=7 and -1,-2,5 would equal -8. to do this you subrtact the to numbers and you get -1. so to keep it the same it would be zero.

1.) The range of this data is 16 degrees ( +4 to -12). I found the range by subtracting the largest temperature (4) and the lowest temperature (-12)
2.) The median of the data is -1 degrees. I found the median by putting all the temperatures in order from least to greatest and finding the number in the middle.
3.) The mean of the data is 3 degrees. I found this by adding all the temperatures together then dividing that total by the number of temperatures there was.
4.) The mode of the temperature is (-1) degrees. I found this by simply looking at all the temperatures in order from least to greatest and finding which one showed up the most.
5.) The mean would change because there would be more degrees added to it and it would become larger since it has a bigger number to be divided.
Bonus.) The missing temperature is -10 degrees. I got this answer by finding out the mean of the numbers that were given and I got a mean on – 0.1 degrees. To get – 0.1 to – 1 then you must add – 10 degrees to the list of numbers given.

1)the range of the data is -8 degrees Fahrenheit. I got this by starting on a number line at +4 degrees then I face subtraction and move forward 12 spots.
2)For the median I set up the numbers in order from least to greatest: -12, -9, -9, -6, -2, -2, -1, -1, -1, 0, 0, +1, +3, +4: then I kept crossing out a number from each side of the sequence of numbers until I reached the middle and I landed between -1 and -1, so the median would be -1
3)for the mean temperature I got -2.35 because I added -12, -9, -9, -6, -2, -2, -1, -1, -1, 0, 0, +1, +3, +4 and got -33 then I divided that by 14 because there are 14 numbers.
4)The mode is -1 because that is the number that occurs the most
5)this would change because you would have to add in +7 with all the other numbers and you would have to divide by 15 instead of 14 because there is one more number now.
BONUS
You would add 0 because when you add all the numbers together you get -1, so you wouldn't need to add anything to get to -1.

1)8 is the range
2)1 is the median
3)-40 Is the mean
4)- 1 is the mode
5) Thin new mean is -47
They way I solved it is I used the number line and did the mean, range, median and mode. There is no other way I can think I can solve this problem.

1) Range: (-9) - 4= (-13)
Range is the largest # minus the smallest #
2) Median: 1
12 9 9 6 2 2 1 1 1 0 0 1 3 4
Cross out from each side until you reach
The middle witch is 1
3) Mean:-2.5
(+ 1)+(-1)+ 0 +(-2)+( +4)+(-1)+(-1 ) +(-9)+( -12) +(-2)+0+(+3)=-35
(-35)/14=2.5
4) Mode:-1
The mode is the most common #
5) This is the number that occurs most often
it then would be
(+ 1)+(-1)+ 0 +(-2)+( +4)+(-1)+(-1 ) +(-9)+( -12) +(-2)+0+(+3)+7=(-28)
-28/15=1.86
BONUS: (-2) + 3 + (-5) + 0 + 4 + (-1)= (-1)
The last temperature could be 0
All I did for the bonus is find the “mean” of the #that it gave it =(-1)
So (-1)+0=(-1
I don’t believe that there is another way to solve this

The sum is 31:
Now, I have to divide the number of numbers (14) by 31 and I will have the average or mean.
31/5= 6.2
The average temperature is 6.2 degrees in Toronto.
Median:
To find the median you have to take the listed degrees and list them from least to greatest.
-12, -9, -9, -6, -2, -2, (-1) -1, -1, 0 ,0, 1, 3, 4
The median temperature is -1 degrees
Range:
To find the range you take the least number and subtract it from the largest number.
4
- (-12)
+16 The range is positive 16.
Mode:
To find the mode you have to see the number that occurs most
often.
-12, -9, -9, -6, -2, -2, (-1, -1, -1), 0 ,0, 1, 3, 4
The number that occurs most often is -1 degrees.
+7 added to the mean:
9
9
8
7
3
+ 2
38
38/6= 6.33
If +7 was added to the next day’s mean it would change the temperature for the next day so instead of 6.2 degrees it would be 6.33 degrees.
To solve this problem I first had to find the sum of all the degrees together. Then as I went on, I took the problem step by step. I then found the average, median, range and mode. Then I added +7 to the average to find the next day’s temperature. I didn’t use a strategy. But, I used the way I knew to find the mode, median, range and average. I do not think there is another way to solve the problem because there is only one way to find the average, median, mode and range. Then I added the +7 to +9,+9,+8,+3,+2. After, I got the sum I divided it by 6 because that’s the amount of numbers I used. I liked this problem because the steps we had to use came very easy to me.

answer
1.The range of the data is -8.
I got this answer by putting all the intigers in order from least to greatest. Then I subtracted the least from the greatest. I had to use a numberline to figure it out.
<-----------|------------>
-12----|-8
2.
the median of the data is -1.
I found this out by putting the integers in order from least to greatest and checkes each
of them off until I got to -1.
3.
the answer is 37.3 reapeting.I got this by adding all of the intergers by 12 and I got 144.Then I divided it by 9.
4.
the answer is -1 because it is the number that occurs most often in the set of data.
5.
It would be 41.5 becuase if you if you do 7+7+7+7+7+7+7=49, then you would add it to 336 and divide it by 10.
Thoughts and comments:
I liked this weeks blog becuase it helped me remember what mean, median, mode, and range are. I thought that it was great to do it agian.
Relations:
Mean, median, mode and range was actually really easy for me to learn so I got this done quick.

1.-12,-9,-9,-6,-2,-1,-1,-1,0,0,+1,+4
range: -12 to +4
2.-12,-9,-9,-6,-2,(-1),-1,-1,0,0,+1,+4
median: -1
3.(-1)+(-1)+(-1)+(-2)+(-6)+(-9)+(-9)+(-12)= -41
(+4)+(+1)= +5
(-41)+(+5)= -36
(-36)/12= -3
mean:-3
4. -12,-9,-9,-6,-2,(-1,-1,-1),0,0,+1,+4
mode: -1
5. (+1)+(+4)+(+7)= +12
(-41)+(+12)= -29
(-29)/13= -2.23
the mean charges if you add +7 because when you're finding the mean any change in the data will effect the out come.
examples:
mean before +7: -3
mean after +7: -2.23
bonus:(-5)+(-1)+(-2)= -8
3+4= 7
7+(-8)= -1
(-1)+(-6)= -7
(-7)/7= -1
the missing temperature is -6F
I don't think there was any other way to solve these problems because the I did it was the way I was taught and I don't think any of my past teachers taught me the wrong way to do it.

Problem 1. +16
Problem 2. -1.5
Problem 3. 11
Problem 4. -1
Problem 5. The mean would change because instead of it being 11, it would be -3.5.
Bonus.+2
I got my answer to number 1 because I knew that since -12 was one of the numbers, you would have to add =12 to it to get to 0, then add +4 to it because +4 was also one of the numbers so you would have to add +16 to it to solve the equation.
I got my answer to number 2 because if you line the numbers up from least to greatest and cross each one off as you go along the line so that you have 7 numbers crossed out altogether the two middle numbers would be -1 and -1 and in between that is -1.
Igot my answer to number 3 because I added all the numbers together then divided them by the amount of numbers there were and got my answer.
Igot my answer to number 4 because -1 was listed the most times and the mode means the number listed the most.
I got my answer to number 5 because I added 7 which gave me -36 which divided by 10 gave me my answer.
I got my answer to the bonus question because when I added all the numbers together I noticed if I added 2 it gave me the answer -1.
There are no other ways to solve these problems.
